Profmed announces new Principal Officer and CE, Craig Comrie
Medical scheme, Profmed, is pleased to announce the appointment of Craig Comrie, as the business’s new Principal Officer and CE.
Comrie is succeeding Graham Anderson, who has been at the helm of the organisation since 2003 and has grown the scheme’s membership to 34 000.
Known as the CA with a difference, Comrie’s financial and auditing experience has provided a foundation that stretches into both corporate and consumer solutions.
Comrie, who joins Profmed with over 18 years’ experience in the medical scheme industry, has always admired its culture.
“Graham and the team have built quite a reputation of excellence in a tough medical scheme environment where members are under pressure financially. Medical schemes are consolidating as there is no growth in member numbers, but Profmed bucks the trend and grows steadily year after year,” says Comrie.
He adds, “I love the ethos and focus that comes with Profmed caring for the 34 000 members and their families. I believe we can make a huge difference in supporting professionals through the ongoing tough economic environment while giving them peace of mind regarding the fact that they can access the best healthcare on offer. There are so many other opportunities to support, craft the future healthcare landscape and ensure this helps professionals become more productive.”
Anderson, who will continue to assist Profmed in an advisory role if required says, “Craig’s experience in managing the services of over 15 medical schemes, including restricted and open schemes, will provide significant value to Profmed’s members. His in-depth industry knowledge and experience will ensure that the medical scheme will be able to continue to respond to the needs of its members as it has done for the past 60 years.”
