In accordance with Section 37(1) of the Medical Schemes Act ,131 of 1998, medical schemes are required to furnish the registrar with the Annual Financial Statements together with required regulatory reporting within four months of the scheme’s financial year end. The CMS issued Circular 21 of 2024 indicating that due to delays with the Annual Statutory Returns system, this requirement could not be met. The anticipated submission required per the Medical Schemes Act will be announced once the system is live.
