As part of our commitment to your wellbeing, the preventative care benefit encourages the early detection of the most frequently diagnosed high-risk diseases. Early treatment reduces the risk of complications and is more likely to secure a better prognosis for the patient. This benefit provides cover for specified pathology and radiology investigations, and vaccinations. All relevant diagnostic procedures and tests are paid from the risk benefit in terms of the rules and protocols.
The benefit is available annually, to the principal member and beneficiaries paying adult contributions, ensuring extra support where it’s needed most.
How does it work?
Complete your preventative care screenings and unlock an additional R2 750. This amount is allocated to your day-today benefits and can be used to cover out-of-hospital expenses.

?
Members must meet the following criteria:
- Download the Profmed App and be active users;
- Conduct a Digital Health Assessment via Profmed App;
- If required, complete a physical health assessment (this is not mandatory);
- Complete all individual relevant Preventative Care benefits;
- Where a beneficiary is registered on a Chronic Treatment Care plan, they are required to fully comply with the plan, to unlock benefits.
